Alekseyevskoye Old Mill

On August 23, the German authorities and local police forces arrested 26 Jews, among them women, children and elders. They were taken to a barn (in the village Alekseyevskoye), where they were held until the next morning without food or being allowed to go out to exercise their natural functions. On the next day, at three o clock in the morning, the Germans and their collaborators took them to an old, broken down mill. In its ruins the Jews were divided into groups of eight people who were forcedto lie facedown on the ground. They were shot to death, first with pistols, then with machine-guns.
