Belaya River Bank in Maykop
Between the end of August and mid-September 1942 the Germans arrested so-called "hostile elements." After the liberation of Maykop the Red Army discovered 2,056 bodies in seven pits on the banks of the Belaya River. 117 of the victims were identified as Jews.

Khanskaya
On August 18, 1942 the Germans arrested a Jewish family of seven in the village of Khanskaya. They were immediately shot to death near "the house of culture" on Krasnooktyabrskaya Street.

Burial Mound of the First of May
At the end of August 1942 the Germans arrested Jews who had been evacuated to the Caucasus region. The Germans took these Jews to the Burial Mound of the First of May, near the village of Kuzhoroksaya. Thirty-six Jews - men, women, children, and elderly people- were shot to death at that location.
