Berestovetskiy Yar
In November 1941 about 150 Jews from Kanev were taken in the direction of Korsun, the county seat, about 40 kilometers southwest of Kanev. According to testimony and evidence gathered by the Lo Tishkakh Foundation, these Jews never reached Korsun, but were shot dead at the Berestovetskiy Yar ravine on the southern outskirts of Kanev. The main or sole perpetrators of the massacre were Ukrainian auxiliary policemen from Kanev.
