Cheremushki Former Military Camp
In March 1943, after the Jews had been forced to move into the dormitories, only the Jewish women were allowed to buy food. Then, under the pretext of evacuation to a separate Jewish settlement, the forty remaining Jews were taken to the military town of Cheremushki in the south of Lebedin, having been ordered to bring their valuables along with them. Once in Cheremushki, they were taken to a pit that had been dug in advance, forced to strip naked, and shot dead by the Germans, who used machine guns.
