China Factory Office in Markhlevsk
In September 1941, apparently after the first shooting operation, the surviving Jews, whose number was between 20 and 35, were sought and, then, found in their hiding places. They were taken one by one or in pairs to the basement of the china-factory office located on Lenin Street. Those Jews were shot early in the morning, apparently in the vicinity of the china-factory office or on Lenin Street; some Soviet documents report that the shooting of the Jews were carried out on Pushkin Street as well. The exact date of the operation is unknown. Later testimonies also mention another mass grave, probably, of Jews, that until 1950 was located in a field in the village center. Today this is the area of Lesya Ukrainka Street.
