Cliffs on the Banks of the Uzh River

According to some testimonies, the Jewish population was also shot in trenches and old pits among the cliffs on the western bank of the Uzh River, not far from the railway bridge. Probably [some] non-Jews were also shot at this site. Some witnesses say most of the victims were not families, but rather individuals.

Fat Boiling Facility near Korosten

In August 18 – 19, 1941 the Jewish population of Korosten was collected in the local school building. From there the victims were taken in a column outside of town toward the fat-boiling facility. There the Jews were taken in groups of 20-30 and shot to death in an anti-tank trench.

Forestry Nursery near Korosten

In September 1941 the Jews of Korosten and, apparently, [also] from nearby villages were driven in groups to the area of the forestry nursery in the southern part of the town. The Germans shot the victims in four pits that had been prepared in advance. Some sources say the number of the victims was about 500. The exact date of the murder operation remains unknown.
