On March 25, 1942 some Germans and local auxiliary policemen arrived at the orphanage in Mikhaylovka village. About 130 children, at least 10 of whom were Jewish, as well as about 10 adult Jews who were present at the orphanage, were taken by cart or on foot to a hill 1.5-2 kilometers northeast of Mikhaylovka and shot at an anti-tank trench. Three Jews from nearby Tomakovka village were also shot there.
