Kommunary Railway Station

On September 3 (in October, according to other sources), 1942 the Jews of Kotsyukovich were rounded up by local auxiliary policemen. They were told they were going to be resettled in Palestine, but were taken toward the Kommunary railway station. Near the station they were driven into a swampy area, at a place called Gorelyy Pen. There the Jews were ordered to dig a grave, then to undress to their underwear and lie face down in the grave. After that they were shot. Little children had their spines broken and were thrown into the grave alive. The number of those murdered was 380 (or 451, according to another source).
