Lenin Collective Farm near Solomenskoye

After the Germans captured the village of Solomenskoye during the first days of August 1942, they immediately started to persecute the Jewish people in the village. Between the 27th and the 29th of August 1942 German military and Russian police forces killed the first Jews of the village. After they were taken to the Lenin Collective Farm, the Jews were forced to undress, and then they were shot to death in a pit near the vineyards of the farm. This procedure was repeated on September 2, 1942 and between the 15th and 20th of December 1942. The Germans and their Russian collaborators in Solomenskoye murdered a total of 40 Jews during the short period of the occupation of this village in Stepnovsky County.
