Lyubonichi Forest

The day before November 7, 1941 all 60 Jewish men of Lyubonichi were ordered to appear at the building of the former church. All those who assembled there were lined up and taken to the forest some distance from the town, where pits had been dug the previous day. These Jews were forced to crawl part of the way on their knees. At the pits the Jews were shot dead. According to one testimony, the perpetrators of this murder were Finnish soldiers and local auxiliary policemen.
