In February 1942, the occupying authorities registered all the Jews in the county. That same month saw the shooting of 1,108 local Jews – including the Jews of Podvysokoe, who were killed in the vicinity of the town. The number of victims from this particular town is unknown, but it must have included the few Jews who had been left in the area by the time of its occupation.
