Silage Pit in Krasnoselka

In early October 1941, the local Jews were ordered to show up at the commandant's office without any food or possessions, on the pretext that they would be informed of an important decision. However, they were not allowed to return home, but for several days were held in a dirty and wet cowshed with no food and only two cans of water. On October 14, 1941, which was Simchat Torah, they were all taken from the cowshed to a bunker silo. A soldier ordered the children to approach an officer who was holding a box of chocolates. The officer threw the sweets down next to the silage pit so the children rushed to pick up the sweets. Then all the Jews were shot. The earth that was used to cover the pit heaved for three days. A total of 113 Jewish kolkhoz members were shot.
