Skivra Jewish Cemetery

On September 20, 1941 the Jews of Skvira of all ages and both sexes were colleced at the school building in the center of the town. From there they were taken to the Jewish cemetery on the northeastern outskirts of town, brought in small groups to a pit dug in advance, and forced to stand or to kneel facing the pit. Then they were shot in the back of the head by members of an anti-tank unit of Police Regiment South. The figures available forthe number of victims of this massacre range from 200, according to perpetrators' testimonies, to 1,000, according to Soviet reports.
