Stable in Dovsun

The immediately after the occupation of Dovsunskoye (Dovsun) the Germans arrested the Jewish refugees who had sought refuge in the village. Six of them escaped from the Germans and returned to the village to try and hide near an artesian well. Three elderly Jews and three Jewish children asked if the Gestapo was in the town. Suddenly the Germans showed up and arrested them. At nine o’clock in the evening, the Germans took all the Jews in Dovsun to a stable without a roof. They took away the Jews' possessions and then forced a local landowner to start an engine of a vehicle to drown out the screams of the victims. A group of arrestees totalling 29 men, including Jews and Soviet POWs, was forced to line up. The Jews and POWs were shot separately.
