Stalin Collective Farm near Staromayevskoye (Gas Vans)
At 10 AM on a certain day in September 1942, the local police squad rounded up 233 Jewish evacuees from all over the Staromayevsky County and took them to the German headquarters in Staromayevskoye. The Jews were then herded into two gas vans, which had been provided by the German mobile killing squads. The Germans divided the group and drove the vehicles to the collective farm named after Stalin, where a pit had been dug in advance. There, they opened the cargo holds and dumped the bodies into the pit.
