According to some sources the first shooting of Yemilchino Jews was carried out in July 1941 when all the pupils of the Jewish classes of the local school were shot, apparently at the same time as several hundred POWs from the adjacent camp. The exact date and the number of Jewish victims are unknown. Since some testimonies report that shootings were carried out next to the storehouses of a former military unit the victims of the July 1941 shooting were apparently murdered at that site.
