Yevgenovka Steppe

The Jews of Bobrovy Kut were shot on September 16, 1941 at Yevgenovka Steppe, some three kilometers north of Bobrovy Kut. Following the mass murder operation, the bodies of the victims were thrown into wells. According to different sources, the estimated number of victims is between 850 and 945 people. Two hundred Jews from Bessarabia were murdered there as well. During the same period, the Jewish residents of the neighboring kolkhozes, "Serp i Molot", named after Kaganovich, and "May 1", were also murdered. The murder operation was carried out by Sonderkommando 10a.
