On May 2 (according to other sources, on May 9), 1942, 263 Jews were driven from their homes by the police and taken northeast of the village in the direction of Budo-Pechersk. 216 of the Jews were from Zakharino; the rest had come from other places. The Jews were stripped and shot to death by 7 Germans and 20 policemen in an open field 200 meters from the village.
